Through the eyes of Peace
This world is sinking in an ocean of war, violence, abuse, deceit…
Conflicts need to be addressed on the neutral “Common Ground of Peace”.
The reasons behind the conflict need to be looked at through the “eyes of Peace” or against the light of Universal Human Values. Now, the reasons are often not clear or overlooked.
Wheel or circle of Peace
Use this circle to try and solve problems.
The lack of respect for human values is often the reason behind conflicts.
People causing the problems are often not having the right values. That can be due to their beliefs and the way they were educated.
Analyze a conflict situation using the following scheme.
To solve it, let yourself be guided by the human values in Danellandia and its many articles discussing common and not so common issues.
I. facts and figures
- What is the conflict about?
- Who are the various actors?
- Who are the actors behind the scene?
- What are the facts?
II. problems
- What are the problems?
- Different aspects of the problems (social, personal, economic, financial, political, judicial, religious, psychological, …)?
- From the point of view of the various actors.
III. reasons
- What are the reasons for the problems?
- Are there any hidden reasons?
- What are the causes and the consequences?
- Do the actors contradict each other?
- Do they respect human values?
- Which anti-values are interfering?
IV. solutions
- What needs to be done to remedy the causes?
- What decisions need to be taken?
- Can a common project be found beneficial to all parties involved?
- How can human values be strengthened?
- Short/medium and long-term.
V. options
- Feasible.
- Unfeasible.
- Probable with time.
- Improbable.
Together we are strong
We are all part of one big tree – the Tree of Life. Strong twigs (ramitos) make a strong tree!
